The unique rotor design makes a low NPSHr value which makes the DW+ pumps ideal for many applications such as ultra-filtration and eliminating cavitation.

High Volumetric Efficiency

The DW+ Series is designed for outstanding efficiency. Internal clearances have been minimized by optional rotor types (Super tight), together with high RPM speed to allow a smaller pump size selection for medium viscosity applications. This reduces both the initial investment and running costs.

Non-Galling Alloy Rotors

Compared with normal stainless steel, the optional NGA rotor will make further narrow clearance which could avoid down time and pump housing damaged in the real operation.

Ultra-Hygienic and CIP/SIP Capable

All DW+ models are CIP/SIP cleanable, featuring a profiled front cover gasket for enhanced cleanability.Designed to withstand rapid temperature changes, these pumps handle very harsh CIP cycles.

Theory of Operations

The APV DW+ Positive Displacement Pump operates using a rotary piston or bi-lobe rotor mechanism to transfer high-viscosity liquids with minimal shearing, ensuring product integrity and efficiency. The pump functions by creating expanding cavities at the inlet, allowing fluid to enter the chamber, and then meshing the rotors to force the liquid out through the outlet. This results in a consistent and pulse-free flow, reducing vibrations and pressure surges.

Designed for ultra-hygienic applications, the DW+ pump integrates non-galling alloy rotors that maintain tight clearances, ensuring the pumping efficiency as well as rotor getting galled with pump casing. The piston rotor design provides an extended sealing path, optimizing efficiency while reducing energy consumption. Bi-lobe rotors offer an alternative for applications involving large suspended solids, enhancing versatility across industries such as food, dairy, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals.

The DW+ pump is equipped with helical gears and double-tapered roller bearings, improving durability and reducing noise. It features an integrated pressure relief valve to protect the system from overpressure conditions, and a thermal jacket option to maintain product temperature consistency.

With its CIP/SIP (Clean-In-Place/Sterilize-In-Place) capability, easy maintenance through front-loaded mechanical seals, and a low Net Positive Suction Head (NPSH) requirement on eliminating cavitation, the DW+ pump ensures reliability, safety, and operational efficiency in critical processing environments.
